A Nice day at the beach

Today we spent the day strolling along the promenade overlooking the beaches of Nice and lounging around drinking cocktails in the 27degree heat. Before choosing a beach for a swim, we went up to the top of Correlin du Chateau, where there were breathtaking views of Nice.

We then went down to Blue Beach where Shayna and I treated ourself to the private section of the beach where we got lounge chairs and umbrellas and delivered drinks from the bar. The beaches in Nice have pebbles rather than sand, hence our decision to pay for lounge chairs rather than lying on the rocks.

After soaking up the sun, going for a dip in the clear waters and watching some water sports, it was time to make our way back to the hotel to get ready for Monaco. We are currently on our way to Monaco which is about 1-1.5hrs drive from Nice. We will have dinner there before heading to the famous Monte Carlo Casino.

Tomorrow we say au revoir to France and head into Italy, stopping in Pisa before arriving in Florence.

  1. Your blogs have a common theme....sunshine, water and lovely sights....here it is around -3 to 10 degrees each day - cold and rainy. Keep up your informative and delightful blog and accompanying happy snaps. x
